Day tour to Prato Piazza

Leaving the farm, we ride along the cycle track from Brunico to Braies. We pass the Perca sports ground and cycle through Valdaora and past the reservoir, which is particularly lovely in spring and autumn. Soon after leaving the lake, we turn off towards Braies and follow signs to Prato Piazza. Note: after turning into the Braies valley, we turn left towards Prato Piazza. We follow the road and negotiate the climb: from Monguelfo to Prato Piazza is an ascent of around 100 metres. Once this has been achieved we can enjoy the wonderful scenery of the Dolomites, a UNESCO world heritage site, and refresh ourselves in one of the alpine huts. The return journey follows a short, steeply downhill trail and then joins the outward route back to San Giorgio.
