Lechner Alm – Earth pyramids

We leave San Giorgio and ride towards Villa S. Caterina-Teodone. From there we cycle along a road through the village of Lunes to Vila di Sopra (1,350 m), where we have a magnificent view over Plan de Corones and the upper part of the Brunico valley basin. We cross the village and turn left into the broad valley, following the lovely forest track and ascending continuously to the Lechner Alm (1,650 m). After refreshments we ride back along the forest track and can admire the earth pyramids near the village or follow one of several trails back down into the valley. One descent passes the earth pyramids and ends in Brunico, while another one passes the Amaten hotel on its way down to the valley and ends in San Giorgio. We then follow the cycle track back to Christlrumerhof.
